Desert Tour: The Southern Moroccan Epic (3 Days)

Day 1: From the Atlantic to the Gateway to the Draa Valley
Agadir – Taroudant – Taliouine – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz

Departure is after breakfast, heading east. Our first stop is Taroudant, nicknamed “Little Marrakech,” to admire its ochre ramparts and the vibrant atmosphere of its souks. We then cross Taliouine, the world capital of saffron, before reaching the iconic Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou. After visiting this UNESCO World Heritage Site and enjoying lunch there, we pass through Ouarzazate and enter the majestic Draa Valley. The route winds through palm groves to Agdz, where dinner and a restful night await.

Day 2: Nomadic Immersion and the Chegaga Dunes
Agdz – Zagora – Tamegroute – M’hamid – Erg Chegaga

Head south along the oases to Zagora. We’ll take a cultural break in Tamegroute to discover its centuries-old Koranic library, handcrafted pottery, and underground galleries. The journey continues to the M’hamid oasis for lunch. In the afternoon, experience a camel trek (1 hour) before crossing the desert plateaus by 4×4 to the Erg Chegaga dunes. Upon arrival, a welcome tea will be served at the camp. Enjoy the magic of the sunset over the sand dunes before a festive dinner. A magical night under canvas or the stars.

Day 3: Crossing Lake Iriqui and Return to the Coast
Erg Chegaga – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Agadir

After waking up to the sight of the dunes, we set off again, crossing the vast expanse of the dried-up Lake Iriqui. This lunar landscape leads us to Foum Zguid, then on to Taznakht, a village renowned for its traditional Berber carpets, where we will have lunch. The final leg of the journey takes us back to the verdant landscapes of the Souss region. We expect to arrive in Agadir in the late afternoon, around 6:00 PM.
